Strength:

It is a good film I can say, fine-grained and sharp. Good skin tone and great in flash photography too.

Weakness:

However, its colour is relatively solid, dull and not so vivid when compared with other negative films. Moreover, the print out result is quite dark, you need to add about 1/3 or even 2/3 in exposure when shooting.

I own a Nikon F100 body, a Nikkor 28-70 f2.8 AR-S IR ED D lens and a SB 26 Speedlight. All these are three of a kind: Perfect set! When using Fuji Reala with this set, they all yield good outcome. I would be grateful if Fuji will develop a new version of Reala with brighter colour and more vivid result!

Strength:

Excellent Color
Was not grainy
Detail was magnificent

I just took a trip to Spain and my pictures were the best ever! When I had used Kodak films in the past I was always disappointed by the washed out color, even with their Max films. This film produced beautiful pictures, even with cloudy conditions.

Strength:

Awesome greens. Great overall color rendition. Great for people and landscape shots. Practically no grain.

Weakness:

None that I've really noticed. The better the lab, the better your prints though :-)

If you want a very good general purpose print film, this is your film. I've shot at weddings, social events, outdoor stuff, sports (very sunny), and this film blazes past all the other print films that I've used. For those that find it overpriced locally, try isofilms.com -- just order early, b/c they can be a little slow sometimes. I pay $3.59 for a 36exp roll. My local shops charge $6.50-$7 for the stuff.

Strength:

Brilliant colours. Good skin tone reproduction.

Weakness:

None

This is one of the best 100 film I've used in terms of colour reproduction. Fine grained enough to make huge enlargements.
Rated it @ 100, 80 & 50 for different lighting conditions to bring out shadow details as well as to bring out the intended saturation.
Just remember to partner with the right lab to process any print film to maximise the best in your shots.

Strength:

Great skin tone reproduction, amaizing sharpness

Weakness:

Hardly to be considered as general purpose landscape film or for traveling, but remember:
it was designed especially for portrait and any people related work, mostly under artificial lighting or flash.
So no weakness in this regard.

Great stuff.
I wonder why people here reviewing this film mention low contrast feature as weakness ??????
Please wake up.
This film has indeed much lower contrast then
let's say Suepria 100, 400 or any other general purpose stuff, but that is exactly what it has been designed for !!!!
To be unbeatable in human skin tone reproduction,
great ballance between natural whites and clear blacks (weddings). Want to use it for landscapes ?
Better switch to Superia for this or appropriate films from Kodak.

Strength:

Extraordinary fine grain and sharpness. Great color saturation for landscape and still great flesh tones. Beautiful contrast and latitude.

Weakness:

Expensive!!! And kind of difficult to find in 120 format.

Actually I never found a better 100 iso print fim (as for portrait or landscape). This film give also better results with Fuji crystal archive super gloss paper as with the equivalent kodak. Too bad because labs with Fuji paper are difficult to find. This film gives also very nice results and fine grain when pushed to 400. I usually rate it at 80, I have the feeling that the colors are even more satureted. I just don't understand why the film is so little sold here is Switzerland and Germany, and that people continue to use the Kodak crap. I personaly don't know any better 100 iso print film for landscape and/or portrait. So much for my 2 cent.

Following the advice of others I just shot my first roll of Reala. It was soo good both for people and landscapes. The prinst has never been so good! In my case athough they have been printed on AGFA paper (not FUJI), the results are still astonishing as my local minilab does not do sloppy developmet. I do not think that I will buy any other print film but REALA.

Good for skin tones. Nice colors in landscapes.

Weakness:

This is a good overall print film and I have used it in my waterfall photography but actually prefer the Super hq as it seems to have better saturation in the greens which I prefer for my type of photography. I often use the kodak supra 400 for action shots or sunsets.surises and Royal Gold for Family shots but always go back to the Fuji for my waterfall photography.

Strength:

Very Sharp
Wonderful for Mixed Lighting

Weakness:

Not all Labs do it justice

I like to shoot flash photos at 1/8 to 1/30sec to add ambient light and color into the frame. Reala handles this task better than any film I've yet to try. The 4th color layer (now added to the whole Superia line!) is the secret. I'm in my 7th year of shooting this film exclusively for family & travel. In the U.S., however, not all photo labs print Reala (and most other non-Kodak films) with correct color balance. Once you find the right lab, the results are worth the search. To my eye, Reala looks best on Kodak Royal Gold Matte paper. For weddings, and portrait work, I go back to Kodak VPS because of it's universal exceptance and printability by one-hour photo labs.

Strength:

Wonderful skintones, great landscape colors for all seasons, realistic colors in prints

Weakness:

Colors can look "muddy" if printed at the wrong lab

This film has the most accurate colors I've seen from any color negative film. I tested this by taking a picture of a waterfall in a gorge. Rainbow colors were accurate and vivid, while water was white and gorge walls were a natural sandy brown. Skin tones come out accurate as well. Recommended for all types of photography
