Tamron has announced the release of the SP AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD telephoto zoom 60th Anniversary lens. It is designed for digital SLR cameras, and can be used with both full-frame sensor and AF 35mm cameras. The telephoto zoom lens features VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization, LD (Low Dispersion) and an XLD (Extra Low Dispersion) lens element made from specialized materials that prevents chromatic aberration, and is the first Tamron lens to have an ultrasonic auto-focus drive, USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive). Tamron’s USD lens delivers precise and noiseless focusing at turbo speeds, making it perfect for sports photography, motor racing, and other fast-moving subjects.
The Tamron SP AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD telephoto zoom lens (Model A005) is available for the Nikon mount, with the development of compatible mounts for Canon and Sony to follow.

This is an excellent lens FYI. I’ve used it for about a week and can’t get enough of this lens.
For your convenience, I’ve written an in-depth Tamron 70-300mm VC review to help the readers.
Cheers,
