Sony introduced a new flash memory based, high-definition camcorder, the HDR-CX100. In addition, Sony introduced three standard-definition flash memory models, the DCR-SX40, DCR-SX41, and DCR-SX60.
The HDR-CX100 features a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 10X optical zoom lens, 2.7-inch Clear Photo LCD Plus screen, 8GB of embedded memory and the option for Memory Stick PRO Duo media, Smile Shutter and Face Detection technology, and the ability to preserve your memories in high resolution by capturing 1920×1080 high-definition video and 4-megapixel photos.
The three standard-definition models, DCR-SX40, DCR-SX41, and DCR-SX60, feature 60X optical zoom, 2.7-inch wide LCD touch panel screens, 4-16GB embedded memory, and are offered in in red, blue and silver colors.
The HDR-CX100 will be available for $600 and the 16GB DCR-SX60, 8GB DCR-SX41 and 4GB DCR-SX40 for $370, $300 and $270, respectively in March.
