A couple of months ago Sony sent me their new pocket-sized waterproof camera, the Cybershot TX5. It’s waterproof to 10 feet (3 meters) and able to withstand five-foot drops – perfect for beach vacation abuse! So I promptly took it to Mazatlan, Mexico to play in the ocean. A detailed TX5 pro review is in the works and should be done soon. In the meantime, please enjoy this video I made with the TX5 in Mazatlan. It’s a sample video to show some of what the TX5 can do and it also includes a bit of hands-on commentary.
The Sony Cybershot TX5 has a pocket-sized clamshell design with a touchscreen LCD display and the 10-megapixel CMOS sensor delivers image quality that’s noticeably better than other waterproof cameras I’ve used. It also has 720p HD video – the reason I shot so much video with it in Mazatlan. The TX5 is currently my favorite waterproof, “rugged” point-and-shoot camera. Keep your eyes open for my full review to learn all about it.
