Sony Alpha DSLR Guide Conclusion & Resources
Sony has come a long way in the few years since they bought the Konica Minolta camera patents and introduced the Alpha A100 – their first digital SLR. They’re starting to give Nikon and Canon a run for their money in the consumer digital SLR market and they’re leading the way with innovative digital SLR features, design and performance. Last year’s A55 won tons of awards and the new NEX-7 and SLT-A77 cameras push the prosumer camera class to a new performance level.
For photographers who already have an investment in another camera system, the Sony DSLRs might be a tough sell. But people shopping for their first digital SLR and photographers looking to change systems really need to give Sony a closer look. Right now, Sony delivers more performance for the money than the competition and they are aggressively redefining what a digital SLR is and what it can do. Investing in the Sony Alpha DSLR system is a wise move – they’re only going to get better. And if it’s DSLR video your after, no one makes a digital SLR with better video auto focus.

Nice guide John
Thanks, Greg. It got kind of out of hand. I didn’t intend the inro to be so long but I thought the Sony system needed more introduction than Nikon and Canon, since Sony is a relative newcomer to the camera business and some of their technology is probably mysterious to the average camera shopper.
