Good bargain for ~ $300: sharp, good contrast, switches to manual focus when focusing ring is held and moved to fine focus. Very nice 13″x19″ prints, even when cropped. Sometimes autofocusing searches, but getting close with the manual ring and then turning over to autofocusing works very well. Good continuous autofocusing.
Replaced Sigma 55-200 ~ $160 that worked well, but the Pentax lens is worth the extra money.
Tired of waiting over two years for the Pentax 60-250 ~ $1500 (and still not released) – a ~ $1200 difference. Perhaps if I were working pro the 60-250 might be worth it, but I like the 55-300 very much and use it often.
