Pentax Optio P70 and Optio E70 Digital Cameras

Pentax Optio P70 and E70Pentax announced two new compact digital cameras yesterday – the 12-megapixel Optio P70 and 10-megapixel Optio E70. Both cameras sell for under $200 and will be available in February.

The 12-megapixel Pentax Optio P70 is a super compact camera with a wide-angle 4x optical zoom lens (27.5-110mm equiv.). It has a 2.7-inch LCD display, Advanced Face Detection, Smile Capture, Blink Detection, and Pixel Track Shake Reduction “to assure sharp images with low noise even in poor lighting.” The Optio P70 can also capture 720p HD video at 15 frame-per-second. The P70 will be available in February for US $199.95.

The 10-megapixel Pentax Optio E70 is a member of Pentax’s easy to use E-Series compact digital camera line. It has a 3x optical zoom, 2.4-inch LCD display, Advanced Face Detection, and Pixel Track Shake Reduction technology. Since the E70 was designed for beginning digital camera users it’s simple to use with large buttons and the Pentax Auto Picture Mode that automatically chooses from the most appropriate of 7 different shooting modes. The Pentax Optio E70 will be available in February for US $139.95
