Panasonic adds a new model to their popular Lumix FZ superzoom digital camera line. The new Panasonic Lumix FZ40 digital camera has a 14-megapixel sensor, a 24x wide-angle optical zoom lens with Power Optical Image Stabilizer (O.I.S.), 720p AVCHD Lite HD video and a new processing system.
Panasonic refers to the Lumix FZ40 as a “hybrid camera” in their press release, indicating they see the FZ40 as a potential replacement for the camcorder. The combination of low price, HD video and image-stabilized 24x Leica DC Vario-Elmarit zoom lens definitely make the FZ40 a compelling do-it-all camera option for families, schools and businesses.
The Panasonic Lumix FZ40 will be available in late August for US $399.95.

The Lumix range is under stated. I will have a FZ40 when it arrives. Passed Panasonic cameras: FZ7, FZ18, FZ28, TZ6 & now using a TZ7. The results talk for themselves. More than half the photo’s on my website have been taken with a Panasonic. Go to: http://www.mauricetaylor.co.za
Got my FZ45 today, looking forward to playing. Better build quality, controls easy to use. Going to be hard for the G1, G10 to compete at the price difference.
