Today, Panasonic announced the world’s first waterproof, shockproof and dustproof digital camera to feature AVCHD Lite High Definition (HD) video recording, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1. The Lumix DMC-TS1 features a rugged design, 12.1 megapixels, a 28mm wide-angle Leica DC Vario-Elmar lens, 4.6x optical zoom, Intelligent Auto, and a 2.7-inch LCD.
The TS1 is shockproof from falls up to 5 feet, waterproof to a depth of 10 feet, and dustproof. It also records AVCHD Lite HD video, which is almost double the recording time in HD quality compared with Motion JPEG format.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1 will in April 2009 for $399.95. It will be available in silver, green and orange colors.
