Today, Panasonic announced the Lumix DMC-FX78 compact digital camera. The Lumix DMC-FX78 features 12.1-megapixels, a Leica DC Vario-Summarit 24mm ultra-wide angle lens with 5x optical zoom, 3D Photo mode that takes 20 consecutive photos and overlays the best two, 1920 x 1080 full-HD video recording in AVCHD, a 3.5-inch Smart Touch LCD that includes Touch AF, Touch Zoom, Touch Shutter, and Touch Playback, MEGA OIS, Intelligent Resolution technology, Intelligent Zoom, Art Retouch, Beauty Retouch, and Panasonic’s iA Mode that includes Active Mode, Motion Deblur, Face Detection, Face Recognition, AF Tracking, Intelligent Exposure, Intelligent ISO Control, and Intelligent Scene Selector.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX78 digital camera will be available March 2011 in black, gold and white colors.

Pretty nice though. I read about it on Testfreaks even though they say SLR are coming up in a big way as in even amateurphotographers ditching digitals for SLRs still i feel product like these will manage to co-exist with this ever changing trend.
