Nikon Coolpix S8100Today, Nikon announced the new Coolpix S8100 super-zoom digital camera.

The Coolpix S8100 features 12.1-megapixels, an incredible 10x Optical Zoom-Nikkor ED glass lens (30-300mm, 35mm equivalent), a 3.0-inch ultra high resolution (921,000-dot) Clear Color Display, Full HD (1080p) movie capture, movie recording features such as one-touch recording, optical zoom, stereo sound recording while filming, in-camera editing function or snap still images while recording function, Nikon’s EXPEED C2 image processing engine, a Creative Slider which simplifies adjusting brightness, saturation and color tone in-camera, Sports Continuous mode that records up to approximately 120 fps, high-speed shooting at five full resolution frames at up to 10 frames-per-second (fps) and a pre-shooting cache that records up to two shots before the shutter-release is fully pressed, Subject Tracking, advanced Night Portrait and Landscape mode, 4-Way Vibration Reduction (VR) Image Stabilization System with ISO settings up to 3200, an advanced Backlight shooting function with an in-camera high dynamic range (HDR) function, 17 scene modes including the Scene Auto Selector, and Nikon’s Smart Portrait System that includes In-Camera Red-Eye Fix, improved Face-Priority AF, Blink Warning, Smile Timer and Skin Softening.

The Nikon Coolpix S8100 will be available September 2010 for $299.95. It will be available in black, red and gold colors.
