Nikon’s new Coolpix S620 compact digital camera puts the emphasis on speed and image quality. Nikon is claiming a super fast 0.7-second start-up time and minimal shutter-lag. Slow response time has long been one of the biggest complaints from consumers about their digital cameras. But camera companies have been more interested in selling us more resolution instead of making compact cameras fast enough to actually capture photos of the kids and pets in action. It sounds like Nikon is starting to pay attention.
The Coolpix S620 has a 12.2-megapixel sensor and a 4x 28mm optical zoom lens with Nikon’s VR optical image stabilization. It has sensitivity to ISO 6400 and resolution can be adjusted to ensure best image quality in any lighting situation. A “Fixed range auto” ISO feature limits ISO to ISO 400 or 800 in order to ensure low noise while still benefiting from auto ISO adjustment.

Nikon Coolpix S620 Color Options:
nice ! 28 wide and 2cm macro
I like that it has a 28mm lens, too. I am very curious to see how fast thesse cameras are in actual use. It’s one thing to see numbers and quite another to actually shoot with a camera. I also wish it had an optical viewfinder. One of the reasons I love my Canon PowerShot SD950 IS is that it has an optical viewfinder. It’s pretty much impossible to pan accurately with only an LCD. So I’ve been willing to give up the wide angle for the optical viewfinder. I sure wish someone would make a pocket camera with a wide-angle lens, great image quality, and an optical viewfinder!
My sky blue color for nikon s620 is nice
