Hipsters rejoice! Lomography just announced a new film they’re calling LomoChrome Purple and it’s perfect for photos of you and your beard, abandoned factories, or that new synth band everyone loves. Based on the discontinued Kodak Aerochrome infrared “false-color reversal film,” the new LomoChrome Purple is an ISO 400 color film that gives you a similarly funky color pallet without the hassle of handling infrared film. You don’t have to keep it stored in light-tight containers or load it in the dark, you don’t need filters, and you can get it processed at any old C-41 one hour lab.
LomoChrome Purple will be available in both 35mm and 120 so you can use it in your vintage rangefinder, your Holga, or even a Hassie. They’re making a limited first run for delivery in July (2013). If you want to get in on that you can pre-order now. Five rolls of 35mm LomoChrome Purple will set you back about US $50 and five rolls of 120 sell for about $60.
