Lexar has introduced a new dual slot USB 3.0 card reader. The Lexar Professional USB 3.0 Dual-Slot Reader takes SD and Compact Flash memory cards and can transfer photos as fast as 500MB per second – that’s six times faster than USB 2.0 card readers. Of course, you have to have a computer that supports the USB 3.0 interface to benefit from the faster transfer rate. Otherwise, the new Lexar USB 3.0 card reader is limited to USB 2.0 transfer rates.
If you don’t have a card reader now, the new Lexar USB 3.0 card reader would be a great investment. Most experienced photographers and members of PhotographyREVIEW.com use a card reader to transfer their photos from their camera to the computer. A card reader is easier and more reliable than plugging your camera into the computer – and with the new USB 3.0 interface it’s now also faster.
The Lexar Professional USB 3.0 Dual-Slot Reader is available now, direct from the Lexar Web site (www.lexar.com). It will be available in stores and from online dealers in June at a suggested retail price of $49.99.
