Today, Lensbaby announced the Sweet 35 Optic 35mm selective focus optic to their Optic Swap System, that has an internal 12-blade adjustable aperture of f/2.5 through f/22 that is controlled by rotating a dial at the front of the optic. The adjustable aperture creates a sweet spot of sharp focus surrounded by blur, and allows users to control the size and move around the sweet spot by tilting the Lensbaby lens. The Sweet 35 Optic also features 4 multi-coated glass elements in 3 groups, 46mm front threads, and allows focus down to 7.5 inches when used with the Lensbaby Composer, 6.5 inches with the Scout and 3 inches with the Muse.
The Lensbaby Sweet 35 Optic is compatible with the Lensbaby Composer, Scout, Muse, and Control Freak lenses. It is currently available for $180.00.

Lensbaby Sweet 35 optic | 35mm f/2.5
Thanks for the comment, Michael. Just to make sure I understand correctly, this is the same as previous Lensbaby optics except for the buiilt-in, adjustable aperture? I can get the same effect with my current optic and the drop-in, magnetic apertures?
Hey John,
Sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to you! We’re a lot more responsive on the Lensbaby forum or via twitter: @SeeInANewWay
Anyway, to answer your question, the Sweet 35 is has a much wider angle of view than other Lensbaby optics (35mm focal length vs. the Double Glass’s ~50mm) and the “Sweet Spot” of sharp focus is a little narrower. Check out our photo gallery and you’ll see what I’m talking about – just choose “Sweet 35″ from the drop down menu at the top of the page.
Thanks!
-Michael
Thanks for replying, Michael. And thanks for the links. I will definitely take a look
