Today, Leica announced the new V-Lux 2 compact digital camera. The V-Lux 2 features 14.1-megapixels, a Leica DC Vario-Elmarit 4.5-108 mm f/2.8-5.2 ASPH 24-fold super-zoom lens (25–600mm in 35-mm format), a 3-inch rotating LCD, Full HD 1080i-AVCHD video recording, an integrated stereo microphone with an electronic wind noise filter for video recording, 11 fps high-speed burst mode, and plenty of scene modes including, Panorama Assist, Party, Candle Light, Baby1, Baby2, Pet, Sunset, High Sensitivity, Flash Burst, Panning, Starry Sky, Fireworks, Beach, Snow, Aerial Photo, Photo Frame, and High Speed Movie.
The Leica V-Lux 2 will be available in October for $849.00.

Talk about bad timing. Last fall, I purchased a Canon SLR. I paid $750.00 for camera and extra 300 mm zoom. About two weeks later, Leica announced the new V-Lux 2 camera for 100 bucks more than my Canon. Hey, any dealers our there take trades?
