If the $9700 15-megapixel Sigma SD1 DSLR announced last week isn’t enough for you, maybe the latest from Hasselblad should be your next camera. The Hasselblad H4D-200MS medium format digital camera system was announced last September at the Photokina tradeshow in Germany. The H4D-200MS uses a high-resolution digital back on a Hasselblad H-Series medium format camera and can make 200 megapixel files by taking six photos and combining them into one. You can also use it for handheld 50-megapixel photos if you don’t need a 200-megapixel image.
The new Hasselblad H4D-200MS medium format camera system is shipping now and should be available for authorized Hasselblad dealers for a measly, 32,000 Euros. That’s about US $45,000 at today’s exchange rate. I’ll take three!
