Two good corporate citizens, Kodak and Canon have made donations to assist the disaster relief resulting from the January 2010 earthquake.
Canon Global including the Canon USA and the Canon Latin America groups pledged 20 Million Yen on January 15, 2010 to Haitian Earthquake relief efforts. This translates to approximately $220,000USD. Canon donated via the Red Cross to boost resources for disaster relief.
Kodak pledged $100,000 to the American Red Cross for the Haitian Crisis through the Eastman Kodak Charitable Trust on January 18, 2010. This trust was established in 1952 as a separate entity to provide charitable services ranging from local to international by the Kodak Board of Directors.
While many organizations and companies have been great corporate citizens it is welcome to see these two organizations so long associated with photography in media, journalism, and travel step forward quickly to provide additional resource for disaster relief.
