Today, Canon announced the PowerShot SD4000 IS Digital ELPH camera. This ultra-compact, point-and-shoot camera, is Canon’s first Digital ELPH camera to offer Canon’s HS SYSTEM (high-sensitivity system) that will enhance image quality in low-light situations and help reduce noise at high ISO speeds. Canon has elevated the current ELPH series by now offering advanced settings and new features.
The PowerShot SD4000 IS features a 10-megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor, Canon’s HS SYSTEM (high-sensitivity system), a DIGIC 4 image processor, an f/2.0 lens with 3.8X optical zoom with optical image stabilization, high definition (HD) movie-shooting capabilities, My Color function and Super Slow Motion movie function, a 3.0-inch wide angle wide screen LCD, an 8.4 frames per second (fps) high-speed burst rate, new scene modes such as miniature and fish-eye effects, Smart Shutter technology, and aperture and shutter controls for enhanced flexibility and creative control.
The Canon PowerShot SD4000 IS will be available at the end of May for $349.99. It will come in three different colors, red, black and silver.
