The Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS is one of the best-selling point-and-shoot digital cameras right now. It has a 12-megapixel CMOS sensor with Canon’s HS system, a combination of sensor technology and image processing that Canon says delivers improved low light photo quality. The 300 HS also has a 2.7-inch LCD display, 1080p HD video and a 5x zoom lens (24-120mm equivalent) with Canon’s excellent optical image stabilization. The most important things about the Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS are its size and its price. When it was introduced in the spring it was the world’s thinnest digital camera with a 5x 24mm wide-angle zoom lens. And it’s really tiny – quite a bit smaller than a smart phone. So it’s easy to keep it in your pocket and be ready for photo opportunities all the time. As for the price – right now, with a Canon rebate, you can buy the 300 HS for less than $200. That’s a hell of a price for a camera this small and this good.
