Below average construction. Stuck in two other great lens 85mm/1.8 100mm/2.8 MAcro USM 135mm/2 USM. I know this lens worth every penny but where I should put this germ between 85 to 135 If you want have just one moderate telephoto lens for general purpose, this will serve well. But quiet frankly, this is not available light portrait lens. too slow Unlike 85/1.8 or 85/1.2 and 100mm/2.8 usm is sharper, 70~200/2.8 or 75~300/4~5.6 IS are more versitile, 135/2 USM has more beautiple strong defocusing effect Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: eiss |

Fast focusing, sharp, nice size
Weakness:
None really One of my favorite lenses in the EOS line. Light, fast and perfect for portraits. I often choose to use this lens instead of the more versatile 70-200L zoom because it is just as sharp and I prefer to move rather than have the bulky zoom hanging around my neck. Fast, short telephoto, perfect for portraits
Weakness:
no problems Excellent image quality, even wide open. Background blur at f/2 - f/4 is very smooth, making this lens perfect for portraiture. Depth of field is very narrow at f/2, so you can focus on just the eyes and the nose & ears will be soft. USM is fast and smooth. Sharpness, color and contrast are outstanding.
