Strength:
Good highlight and shadow detail, nice skin tones, saturated colour. Grain is noticeable but not unpleasant. Excellent push processing response
Weakness:
Might be too grainy for some. Not as sharp as Provia or Velvia films Outstanding multi-purpose travel film for difficult and/or varied lighting conditions. I just returned from a trip to Tuscany, shooting in the streets in the noon summer sun- excellent shadow and highlight detail, nice skin tones. Fuji Provia 100 or 400 would never have coped in this situation. Nice to be able to shoot a slide film without worrying about blowing the highlights or blocking the shadows. Pushes very well 1 stop (exposed at 320). I'm told you can push two stops. Similar Products Used: Fuji Provia 100F, 400F, Velvia 50 and 100 |

Strength:
Excellent sharpness Very little grain Can be pushed without noticable degradation
Weakness:
Expensive Kodak recommended I rate their E200 at 320 and process it at a one stop push. The results were fantastic. Sharp with brilliant colors. There was very little grain seen on large projection and scanning. This film also scans extremely well. I have been an avid fujichrome user (velvia/provia). However, my new experience with this film has given me reason to switch to E200. I also tried Kodachrome 64 recently and was amazed at the sharpness and color accuracy of this chrome. I will no loner knock Kodak products. However, my print film favorite is still Fuji Reala. I used a mailer from Kodak for film processing and believe they process their own slide film better than other pro labs. Customer Service Excellent. They were incredibly helpful and recommended I shoot E200 at 320 and process it one stop push. They were right! Strength:
moderately fast skin tones contrast color balance and saturation
Weakness:
pricey I don't think one stop of light is worth the loss of detail I've used about 6 rolls of this film. Conditions ranged from indoor with flash to outdoors in different kinds of light(sunny, overcast...). It has nice skin tones and smooth contrast that's not dull nor harsh. The color balance is a tad on the warm side, and I like that. Saturation is middle of the road-not natural and "weak" as I call it like Kodachrome, nor over the top like Velvia 50 or E100VS. Compared to 100 speed film, it's not the grain that bothers me. It's a loss of sharpness and detail. Overall, it's a nice fast slide film, but I tried pushing E100VS a stop and will stick with that. Strength:
I am greatly relieved to find a film that does all the things I need so well. Great color, accuracy and sharpness, without the extreme contrast that deadens shadow detail.
Weakness:
It's a bit expensive, not widely available, probably should be refrigerated. This film does indeed live up to its reputation insofar as it produces very saturated yet accurate color with low grain. It can be used for anything with excellent results...portraits to landscapes. It's the answer for travelers who are looking for an all purpose film that can be counted on. It allows medium quality slow lenses to function marvelously in most lighting situations. I just returned from shooting hundreds of slides under all conditions in Ecuador and I am very pleased at how sharp and true-color the shots were. The extra speed made a critical difference with my new F3.5 24-85 ED_IF Nikkor Zoom, compared to 100speed. I could have pushed it further, but it wasn't necessary. Similar Products Used: Almost all slide films. The other great film is Kodak SW100. If you have the large glass this is slightly better than E200 Pro, but trickier to develop. |

Strength:
Great color, sharpness, great for landscapes and people. Great for pushing, per Kodak specs.
Weakness:
It's pick about processing, make sure you take it to a lab that understands this film, if they don't or they are trying to cut costs your results aren't great. Make sure you understand how to shoot a 200 speed film! If you don't stick with your tripod and slow film. Color on this film kicks! If this film is properly exposed and developed at a good lab, this is a great film, with very sharp, if processed correctly. Customer Service Great, if you take the time to call Kodak, and listen to what they say, they are great people. Similar Products Used: E100S, E100VS, Elite Chrome, 100,200,400. Fuji, Velvia (yuk!) |

Strength:
It has a great pushability. Despite increased greaniness at EI 640, the film renders colors very very well. Its sharpness and contrast are excellent.
Weakness:
Significant increase in graininess above EI 400. I wrote my findings last time. However, I just want to add few more things I''ve observed recently with this E200. I finally had a chance to push this film to EI 640 (2 stops over its normal speed). Honestly, I did not expect much. However, when I got my slides back from the lab, I was very pleased with the results (both under the 10x loupe and projection). The contrast was good, and the color was very close to what I saw. There is a significant increase in graininess, but the slides were very sharp. I shot a lot of pastel and muted soft colors, and the film rendered the pastel colors nicely. It gave a paintaing like appearance with very nice graininess. I''m pretty sure that this film will be a permanent addition to my film list Customer Service Never tried one!! Strength:
200 ASA speed but still fine grain neutral saturated colors
Weakness:
more grain than 100 ASA slide films A good allround slide film. Naturally saturated colors. I use it when I''m using cheap lenses and need a faster speed film. The grain is still fine, I''d say very similar to Provia 400F. Similar Products Used: Provia 100F, Provia 400F E100S, E100SW, E100VS |

Ektachrome E200
Strength:
Best grain and contrast in the ISO 200 range. Does fairly well when pushed a stop, and has decent saturation for warm colors.
Weakness:
Even a one-stop push shows noticeable increase in grain and contrast. Not quite the miracleproduct described in the ad text. Best film to have if you choose to take just one kind into the field. ISO 100 films are sharper, but this is good enough to use in a pinch. One stop push is all I care to practice though. Customer Service Awesome. After calling for pro film information, Kodak sent a thick information booklet at no charge. The postage alone was something like $3.50. Similar Products Used: Elitechrome 200, Sensia 200 |

Strength:
Fine grain for a 200 iso film
Weakness:
I have pushed 1 at 320 iso and pushed 2 at 640 iso and find I prefer to stay at iso 200. I am a Kodachrome 25/64 photographer who dates back to ASA 10. I am lured by higher film speeds on occasion and have always returned to Kodachrome. However, if I manage that trip to Israel I will take E200 with me.
