Strength:

Good skin tones, saturated but not overly. I have taken some landscape pictures with this film, and works great especially with the 400 ISO rating, I could hand hold my camera.

Weakness:

none

Always have used Portra films for ease of printing in my home darkroom because all Portra films uses same filter settings (my photo finisher also recommends these films for ease of printing). Portra UC as advertised has more saturated colors, but not too much. Skin tones still looks natural regardless of race. Grain is minimal even enlarging a 6x7 shot to 16x20. I will try rating this film at 250 and 320 just for my own personal test, but this film works great at 400.

Strength:

Beautful and faithful skin tones Brilliant Color Reasonable Price

Weakness:

No 800 ISO VERSION

I used this film to shoot cover portraits for a group of vocalist, and was simply amazed at the results. Kodak can get rid of NC & VC versions of Portra and just sell this. African American skin tone can cover so many tones of brown and THIS version of Portra does what Fuji wishes it could do(reveal the subtleties of the different skin tones, and deliver incredible color)

Strength:

Color saturation Realistic skin tones Grain is amazing

Weakness:

Not available everywhere yet.

Price is for a 5 roll propack. This film is top quality. Grain like 160 VC/NC, with the sensitivity and versatility of 400 speed film. Colors positively scream out at you, while skin tones are realistic. I've shot this in several nightclubs on Miami Beach, giving it a true test of it's color saturation with the laser systems and lighting arrays in these venues, and it is fantastic. It is going to be my primary film from now on.

Strength:

Extremely low to no grain. Better than 400NC and 400VC. I'd say even better than 160ASA. Stunning colors that are very realistic and not overbearing. Beautiful contrast. No variations in grain caused by the occasional imperfect exposure. Perfect, warm skin tones.

Weakness:

NONE. None at all!

Just amazing! After four rolls at various lighting conditions I am so impressed! I have been using 400NC for years and thought that was hard to beat. Now I know I will never use anything else as long the 400UC is around. The colors are not overly saturated at all. They are just perfect! They pop at you without overbearing the subject or composition. NO GRAIN! I shot one roll Fuji REALA 100 and one roll PORTRA 400UC of the same subject within minutes of each other. I had a very hard time distinguishing which was which from the prints! What gave it away was the perfect saturation of colors of the 400UC! It is that good! It also seems to not have any of the hit-and-miss grain problems that the 400NC occasionally produces in shadows or if not properly exposed. Kodak has a real winner of a professional print film here. Simply perfect for any colorful and bright situation, from outdoor weddings, to landscape photography. My new favorite!

Strength:

Beautiful skin tones- very natural Bold and saturated colors too! 400 speed but its fine-more like 160 speed. Scans great with my Epson 2450 scanner

First time in trying this film, I shot a small wedding. Since I've used the other Portra films, I had a lot of confidence in this 400uc. I was amazed. The skin tones are very smooth and natural, while the other colors POP! And I mean reds are great reds, greens are greens, and blues are blue! Great saturation of colors! Get some now for some outstanding portraits-especially outdoor portraits. I have to give it a 5 rating-its just that good!
