Strength:
NC= "Natural Color" and its true. The skin tones are very true to life. I agree with most of the reviews - a neutral film with low saturation and quite fine grain. Because I work at a Pro color lab I can tell you that this is the QUINTESSENTIAL wedding film ("it can capture tha groom's black suit and the bride's bright white!")
Weakness:
This may be a matter of taste (hey - this is my review!) but its neutral to the point of boredom. Its bland. Low color saturation. This film runs VERY CYAN. We auto-print this film with +2 magenta and -1 cyan! Using a flash be prepared for arctic cold tones. Brrrrrr. This film is cold and overpriced. The skin tones are excellent for most situations, however. If you're not shooting weddings stay away from this film, for the most part. Despite my distaste for this film, I would think that if you are shooting for only true-color skin tones, this film is perfect. Similar Products Used: Agfa XPS160 and other "portrait" films. |

Colors are DEAD ON ACCURATE
Weakness:
Color sat is a little weak. I love 160NC. It's great for outdoor weddings, portraits or anywhere you don't need the saturation of VC. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
Colors are DEAD-ON accurate. The NC designation (Natural Color) lives up to its name for sure.
Weakness:
If it had any, it would be color saturation -- but then again, that's not why you'd be buying this film. Also, an expensive film. You won't get optimum bang-for-the-buck on this one, unless you buy a 10' roll and bulk load it. If you want a super-saturated film, buy Kodak GOLD. Althoug you can tweak saturation a bit by shooting the 160 at 100, it's hardly worth it. Overall, super for situations which require a bit of subdued saturation -- e.g. weddings, portraits. A little too expensive unless you bulk roll it. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: NHG II, Press, other varieties of Fuji, Kodak, Agfa, Ilford, to name a few. |

Strength:
Very neutral tones and good rendition of whites.
Weakness:
I find it to lack color saturation. If used as intended, for portraits, I find it to give the flesh tones a somewhat flat, washed out appearance. I don't find it to be a very good portrait film. Kodak 160 VC or Fuji NPS 160 produce far better, more vivid results. It is also expensive. Not a film I would recommend for portraits, unless you're trying for a particular effect, otherwise, FUJI 160 or Kodak 160 VC, produce more interesting results. Customer Service No experience with them Similar Products Used: Kodak vericolor III, Fuji products and Agfa. |

Price - I don't do enough to be buying 20 rolls at a time. Great portrait film. I used it for a friends wedding after reading recommendations on this site. They and I are very pleased with results. Well suited for weddings when a balanced look is required. Nothing too 'punchy', just quality reproduction.Truly is a 'Natural' looking film. Enlarges well. Beautiful, natural skintones.
Weakness:
None I shot 2 rolls of 160NC at my cousin's engagement party recently, and using mostly bounce flash, the resulting pictures come out with such smooth skin tones. This film appears more saturated than royal gold, but skin tones are still smooth. Customer Service none required. Very smooth color rendering. Exceptionally good with skin tones. Very flattering photos result from using this film.
Weakness:
Not for low light. I never used Kodak film much until I tried this. It is the portrait photographer's best friend. For best results, use it with a fast portrait lens like a 85 f1.8, 100 f2.0, or a 135 f2.8 (if you use Canon equipment). It is particularly impressive when used with a flash. My very best flash photos have been shot with this film. Smooth, even skin tones, no big bright spots, nothing looks overexposed, and best of all, no "deer in the headlights" look on people's faces! I highly recommend this film for portrait photography with either good natural light or a flash. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: Everything. |

The film renders the skin tone very2 good. It's not a contrasty film. Colors are neutral. White is perfect, and red is neutral.
Weakness:
I have not found one yet It's an excellent film for a portrait indoor and outdoor. It meets the claim well as a portrait film. Similar Products Used: Kodak Portra 160VC |
