I Know others have said it here but the lense is excellent.
Weakness:
Very noticable time lag between pressing the shutter button and the final exposure(just try taking a portrait of a 3 year old; by the time the camera works they have looked around at something else!). The lense is just outstanding for a camera of this price (1904 or something Tessar design!).The plastic body wears poorly, but that's only cosmetic.Puzzle about the dust ingress though. Customer Service Ok unlike the service for its bigger brother the Contax TVS; but they are both fixed at the same place! Similar Products Used: Konica Hexar;Contax T2 and TVS;Nikon 35Ti |

Great lens and light weight. It's 35mm not that APS mini-neg format. Waist level finder actually works and is great for kid photo's.
Weakness:
Kinda' big for a pocket camera (my Olympus XA is more portable and feels much more bulletproof) It works, it survives when I hand it to my kids to use, doesn't scare people like my medium format Mamiya's, and most of all - I carry it so I don't miss the shot! Try one of these with the Kodak VC (vivid color films - wow!) Customer Service Haven't used (a good sign) Similar Products Used: Olympus XA |

Problems with fill flash A great little camera at a great value. Excellent travel camera. Light, weatherproof, and affordable so you don't worry about it getting ripped off. Sharp pictures. Great metering. The focus is a little touchy. I have no problem with it, but others have trouble sometimes. Fill flash seems to be hit and miss. Many backlit subjects resulted in unwanted silhouettes. I also miss aperture control. I may upgrade to a Leica Minilux. Customer Service None Similar Products Used: None |

Great optics, good price.
Weakness:
Poor viewfinder, not small enough, fells too plastic like any other cheap P&S. Great optics but viewfinder needs some improvement (too small, difficult to see). Its compact but not small enough to fit in my pocket. Customer Service Not very helpful about their own product Similar Products Used: Contax T2, Nikon 35Ti, Konica Hexar, Ricoh GR1 |

-Considered a big P&S I admit I was obsessed with the Carl Zeiss lens. If I had another chance, I'd probably get the Olympus Epic instead because of the price and the reliability. I heard a friend of mine had this Yashica camera and also had a lens problem (lens element I believe). Maybe we both are just really unfortunate... Customer Service YES, actually I exchanged this camera for a Canon Rebel G (backup to my Elan IIE) because the lens would not zoom out properly when camera is switched on. The camera supposedly should zoom out about 1cm after the flimsy lens cover slides to the side, but the lens cover is slid over but the lens would not zoom out. Excellent all-around camera for everyone.
Weakness:
NOne, this is my second one! Do not be fooled, this is a serious camera in anyone's hands. I also have the Olypus Stylus Epic Deluxe, but the lens and autofocus are not as good! Favorite film for this camera is any 400 & 800 ASA Fuji film, inlcluding pro films, and Fuji Neopan 1600 for B&W. Customer Service Unknown Similar Products Used: Stylus Epic Deluxe |
