Strength:

I love the small size and excellent
lens. All my pictures are sharp with
great contrast. The optional remote is
a must have.

Weakness:

None

I bought this camera because of the excellent reviews it recieves. I am definitely
impressed. This is the best little point and shoot camera I have had. Good looks ,
super features and a great price. The small size is handy for weddings and parties. It
easily slips in a suit jacket pocket and you forget that its there. I bought the remote
as a after thought and have had a lot of fun with it. I recently took it on a camping
trip with just my daughter and myself. I piled a couple of short logs on end set up the
camera and we just sat in our chairs and took a few photos of ourselves!. Its great
for those times when you wish you were in the shot. I shoot with Kodak 200 Gold
and blow ups to 8" x 10" are fantastic. I highly recommend this simple to use fantastic
camera!!!

Strength:

Price, compact size, styling, ability to override some of the automation.

Weakness:

Over-exposes about 1/2-1 stop. Lens is a little fuzzy compared to a Nikon 35mm lens. The actual focal length is around 32mm (wider than a 35mm lens).

A good value at the $100 price point. Those with experience using good lenses on SLRs will find a capable supplement when you don't want to carry the entire system. But you can definately tell the photos taken from the Stylus from those of a good SLR with a fixed focal length lens.

Strength:

2.8 lens performs fantastically well in low light and in action scenes. Very sharp as well. This is the whole reason I bought it.

Weakness:

Very small. This is obviously a big selling point - it's just hard to hold steadily when one is used to a heavy SLR. (This is not usually a problem anyway though, since the camera prefers fast shutter speeds.)

I can't think of a better camera, dollar for dollar. I just bought a second one!

Customer Service

It hasn't needed service. One comment, though: a gentleman from Olympus in Japan whom I spoke to by phone sent me a photocopy of the program line diagram - that was beyond the call of duty.

Strength:

The lens: very detailed pictures (that is: in this class) are possible with this camera, also the extremely small size is a big advantage!

Weakness:

1: the flash. When looking for a compact camera, most people will purchase it to take peoplepictures with (friends, hollidays...). Red eyes are UNAVOIDABLE!!!
2) The autofocus doesn't seem quite accurate.

Okay camera, though incomparable to the T5!

this is the best compact camera for usability. it focuses fast and has all the useful features that a compact should have. the lens is the best thing about this camera- i swear that it is just as good as some SLR lenses. and you can use spot metering to adjust the exposure. it's wide range of use and ease of use give photography a convenient, high quality tool that leaves you with no excuses. oh, and kudos for the strap- an overlooked useful item that deserves mention as an excellent design- very useful. a great snapshooter.

Strength:

Small, lightweight, easy to use, great lens, and weatherproof.

Weakness:

Loose the settings when turned off. Flash actually fires about 5 seconds after the button is pushed.

It's size allows it to be taken in all but the most extreme locations. I dropped mine in the water while kayaking last week ..., dried it off and resumed shooting!! Ideal for outdoors.

Strength:

Compact, 2.8 lense, sharp photos, great price.

Weakness:

reverts to "standard" settings after each use.

As a P&S camera, this is by far the best value of the bunch. It will take awesome pictures, but you have to be careful. The camera does favor wide aperatures, so I've found the spot-focus works best. Unfortunately, the camera reverts back to standard metering everytime you turn it off. Night photos and no-flash indoor pictures come out beautiful. Red-eye a problem in dark settings, the reduction improves a little - but make sure you tell the subject(s) that it's a disco-type strobe or they'll all look freaked! Overall, I love the camera as a daily carry, but I still have the SLR for the serious shots, and my ageless Olympus Trip-MD focus-free for passing around at parties.

WHERE is the infinity lock????? This is an enormous oversight in an otherwise wonderful little camera!

ALMOST, Olympus, you ALMOST made the perfect pocket camera.

Strength:

1. Price !
2. Sharp and fast lens
3. Easy to use
4. It is actually possible to be creative with this one, try out the night flash mode.

Weakness:

Flash. Too close to the lens, making red-eye effect almost impossible to avoid.

A GREAT camera at a very attractive price. I still can't belive how sharp this lens is. It's almost as sharp as my Hexar...well almost. A great camera to carry with you always, as it will fit into even the smallest of pockets. I only miss apperture control of the lens, and a better flash.

the camera's images always comes out crisp and clear. my guess is the camera's automatic exposure meter and focus is doing it's job. this is what makes this camera increadible.

the price of this camera is so affordable. at $80, your pics comes out better. at times i wish i bought this first, before buying my expensive point and shoot SLR.

my only negative deal is it's way of eating up batteries when you use the flash. but most modern point and shoot cameras eat up batteries.

great camera to have around for emergencies!
