    Strength:

Great beginner camera. Auto focus. G mount. Good auto funtions

    Weakness:

The lense it came with, but thats not part of the body that I am rating.

I told my parents I wanted a SLR camera as a birthday/x-mas gift, they said yes but not too much Money. So I went online and to camera shops to asked what would be my best option, f75 was the answer I got. when I got my first prints back I was empressed ( but what do I know this is my first SLR camera).I did find the auto functions helpfull, I plan on learning the manual functions soon. The only thing I have to complain about, is the lense it came with. But I plan on buying the new 28-200mm G mount lense. (paid 499 cnd)

    Strength:

Illuminated Focusing indicators. Light weight Accurate & fast focusing Accurate meeting Custom Functions

    Weakness:

    Slow max flash sync switch.

Bought this F75D packaged with a 28-80mm G lens,75-240mm D lens, tripod & Crumpler Bag. I initially felt the grip to be a bit small since I'm used to the F65 & F100's grip. After going through 4 rolls of film, I find it to be better than the F65 especially with the display indicating the focusing area. It's a pleasure to carry it as it's so light. Perfect for vacation use.

    Strength:

-Accurate metering -Has depth-of-view preview -Some handy presets like scenic and night mode -Very quiet shutter (compare to my N90 and N6006) -Good battery indication, I mean, if there's no battery in the camera, you won't see those focusing bracket in your viewfinder! That's neat! -Vertical grip has shutter release and on/off switch, unlike N80!

    Weakness:

-PRE-WIND film is not so good idea, it's really safe, but not good for wedding. -1/90 is the highest flash sync...therefore, must use slower speed film for day time fill flash. -view finder is only 89% -not weather sealed...dust in viewfinder the second day I use it -you can feel the mirror flipflop with your right hand while pressing the shutter...I mean you can feel it thru the outside body...don't know if it's a good or bad thing -Vertical grip doesn't feel sturdy to me, I always feel like the camera would fall off if I hold just the vertical grip with one hand!

I bought this camera for my traveling use. It's very light weight and small, so I bought the vertical grip as well. I use it with my Nikon 28-105 f/3.5-4.5. I love the metering, it's so accurate. TTL fill flash was dead on! It basically has all the functions I wanted. I probably would use it as my B&W camera in weddings.

    Strength:

Price Will not break your back Easy to use

    Weakness:

Centre-Weighted Average metering only in M mode Inconvenient to use spot metering No manual ISO setting (But if it has all the functions F80 has, it will cause cannibalisation at this price level, right?)

Well, at this price, this camera has the same autofocus module as F80 does (The Nikon Multi-CAM900), and it has spot metering as well as DOF preview... I bought this camera as a backup body to my FM2. I am using some Nikkor D lenses, and they are absolutely compatible with both N75 and FM2. I took several rolls of films with this camera and found that the 25-segment 3D matrix metering system is sophisticated and accurate, even with backlighting. Autofocus is not bad, seems as clipping as F80. It is, however, a little bit inconvenient to use the spot metering. You have to keep pressing the AEL button with your thumb and release shutter. With the MB-18 battery pack, the N75 looks and feels perfect if your palm is not that gigantic. A perfect camera for beginners and those who want an inexpensive backup NIKON camera body.

    Strength:

ease of use ! easy to use ! Great look & feel (black model). abundance of features for beginners to semi-advanced users.

    Weakness:

rather dark viewfinder/not so great magnification & coverage (but about same as other models/brands offer in this price segment) no manual ISO (but exposure is near perfect with good rated films). If you are into "manual settings for everything": looks elsewhere (but then you would not be reading this review anyway).

I use it as a back-up body for an N80 (lot of similarities of use). Price includes 28-100 G Nikon lens. The N75 seems a perfect answer to the ridiculous bidding to get more (into a cheap SLR) for less (money). Nikon may have cut some corners to get this accomplished, but surely not as many as most other brands. The N75 is still a Nikon, feels and acts like one. The user interface is plain simple though efficient. As previous users have reported here the resulting images (Sensia 100 slides in my case) are tack sharp (AF works quite fast and very accurate) and beautifully exposed. One surely gets what is paid for, and more. Also, the Nikkon 28-100 G kit lens is a truly fine consumer lens. I do not believe anyone will be dissapointed with this new addition to the Nikon line.

    Strength:

Low price(around USD230,12 mths installment!!), lightweight, compact, good meter, custom functions, exposure bracketing, multiple exposure I think it's Nikon's best buy considered the price and features.

    Weakness:

limitations, not weakness use CR2 batteries viewfinder cover only 89% no metering for AI lens cannot use IR film(i dun use anyway) Slow highest flash sync (1/90s) for fill slash Load DOF preview cannot use shutter release cable (can use self-timer, bulb shutter instead)

This is a very cheap yet good camera, I purchased it as a 2nd camera due to its lightweight, I've 2 other AF and 2 MF Nikon already. F65 seems too simple and F80 is to me not worth the price as a 2nd body. This new F75 is the one for me! It've most important features (to me) that F80 have, and I can do what it cannot do with my other cameras (F90X,F4S,F2A,FT3). This camera is very simple and can't even use shutter release(must use a remote control, sold seperatly). It has no metering selection, slow focusing(esp. /w lens like 80-200 f2.8) and slow film advance, but i don't worry it much since i won't shoot action /w this F75, but it's great to use wide angles! With good lens, good film, there's no reason one cannot make good pictures with this camera.

    Strength:

This is a very good camera for the price. Better than the F65. The batterie pack MB-18 have a vertical shutter and take AA bateries. The meter is very good.

    Weakness:

The camera is very small. So l bought the batterie pack MB-18 and that better for handling. The setting for ISO when not using a DX coding film set at 100 iso only. Be aware, you can't use infrared film on this camera. Be careful too with the lens you use with the small integrate flash. Nikon should give a pocket guide for the custom setting just like with the F-100.

This camera is very light. The metter very accurate. l bought this body for a second one to my F-100. It cost $200 (canadian) less then the F80. l need a second body occasionnaly only for when l need to shoot in color and in black and white at the same moment. So this is a good camera that will grow with the knowlage of the beginner.

    Strength:

Like a junior N80 for less money. Excellent matrix meter and flash metering Lightweight, compact Spot meter AE Lock Above average autofocus accuracy and speed Custom functions, very useful Fairly quiet

    Weakness:

Slow film advance Longer mirror blackout Cumbersome manual mode (you have to press & hold another button to change aperture, release it to change shutter speeds) Viewfinder brightness and magnification low (but on par with other brand cameras in price range)_

The N75 is Nikon's best beginner's camera yet. Better than the N65 because of: spot metering (via AE Lock), AE Lock, 5 segment 3D flash metering, AF based on N80 with easy focus point selection, improved 25 segment meter vs. 6 segments on N65, can turn off AF light, custom functions, easier to use DOF button. AF marks illuminated vs. in viewfinder LCD on N65, can have meter stay on longer with custom function. Shot only two rolls so far including indoors with SB50DX flash and outdoors. Very good results. AF is faster than N65, almost as good as N80. Lighter weight than N65 but still has metal lens mount. A great second camera for an N80 owner, definitely worth extra $ over N65 or N55. N65 does have faster film advance >2 fps vs. N75 1.5 fps, so 75 has slightly longer mirror blackout, viewfinder about same brightness and magnification which is just fair, kind of small and not super bright in either model. Compared to N80: N80 brighter viewfinder with higher magnification, easier to see, more information in finder, faster film advance, N80 had 2 command dials, manual exposure much easier on N80 compared to 75 or 65. All meter patterns easy to set on N80, N80 uses 123 batteries, last longer, bigger grip on camera. Optional grid lines in finder on N80. N80 quietest Nikon in Nikon amateur cameras. Neither 65, 75, 80 can meter with manual Nikon lenses. N80 is worth it over N75 for more serious user but it's a close choice. N75's battery/grip said to have vertical shutter release but haven't seen it. Why not 5 stars? IMHO no camera is "perfect" which is what 5 stars signifies.
