Strength:
Comfortable to hole, unbearable to use!
Weakness:
Controls are buried in too many menus, very slow layout when trying to shoot sports (ar anything requiring quick changes of basic settings) The best lenses for 35 AF aren''t Nikon, so why settle for a sub-par camera and sub-par lenses? Why anyone would go with Nikon bewilders me. I was excited when this camera came out, that it would possibly be the first good camera Nikon ever made, but I was sorely disappointed. What a waste of money! Similar Products Used: Eos 3 - Far more capable, far cheaper, overall a much better camera, and a much better buy |

Strength:
exposure, flash exposure, focus - fast and accurate, viewfinder, ease of use, overall build quality.
Weakness:
why didn''t I buy one earlier..., well one, a CSM that let the camera leave the film strip out when manual rewind (Nikon can fix this but I think that it ought to be a standard setting). I finally moved up to Nikon after several years using Pentax SLR. I am very satisfied with it and the accuracy of the exposure is almost magic. I trust the matrix metering and I haven''t got a single bad exposure. When doubt - bracket. I have combined it with a SB28 flash and the result is stunning. The combination of F100 and the flash is even more fantastic. I haven''t used flash a lot previously but do now, with perfect result. The focus i dead-on, focus tracking marvelous and the overall feeling is great. I succeeded to setup my F100 to behave exactly how I wanted it to through the CSM (customer setttings). Bright viewfinder, great design and not a lot of functions that you don''t need. Just a workhorse that let''s you create good photos over and over again - just what it is all about. Customer Service haven''t used it. Similar Products Used: Pentax z1,mz5,k1000. Olympus om2. Olympus E10 (digital) |

Weakness:
Battery usage , Locking up , Matrix can be fooled too easily , AE Button is too far away from thumb for smaller hands , SB28 flash underexposes (always set to +0.7) , rewind slow - why not at 5fps ? The F100 is a fine tool . However I too am concerned about its inherent problems ( high battery usage , locks up when batteries start to drain , Matrix metering inaccurate when pointed toward a light source etc. ) . I am even more concerned when I read comments that indicate that a service visit improves the Matrix metering ! . I''ve used it for 18 months now and shots about 200 rolls of film and in general its been a delight to use ( except for above ) . Weight , MB15 and controls make it an intuitive tool to use - everything is at hand . I would heartily recommend it to anyone - but be aware of the issues raised above . Customer Service A friend has had his back to Nikon UK on 3 occasions ( with all his lenses ) due to getting 4 rolls of film per set of Alkalines . Each time they tell him theres no fault to find ! - lets hope I don'' Similar Products Used: F3/F90X |

Strength:
Extremely well-made
Weakness:
Heavy All in all, if you have the money and don't mind the weight, I think this camera is great. Lighter and less bulky than the F5, it is a good compromise for someone who needs a pro-quality camera. However, if you are an enthusiast like me, who likes to carry a camera around on vacation, I would seriously consider buying something lighter (with the SB-28, the camera is more cumbersome that I would be willing to deal with). Customer Service I lost the screw in cap for the PC terminal. Nikon customer service was indifferent and rude when I called to replace it. Similar Products Used: N90s |

I have large hands the body could be larger but the mb15 grip helps out with that the f100 nikon is an excellent camera, especially when you consider the availability of nikon lens and durability. Customer Service excellent Similar Products Used: n4004s-n5005-n8oo8s-n90s -f/2-and f4s nikon |

Strength:
Body solid built, good lay out, firm grip, classical look(and pro too).
Weakness:
no MLU, AF/MF button is poor positioned, This is a beautiful piece of instrument. It is perfect camera for those are beginner or to be pro protographers. To me, I was about to buy F5, but this F100 is better choice. It does not look too pro and heavy as F5, and its cost is reasonable. My Canon is being fogotten since I got this f100. After 60 rolls of film with sharp image, it still gives me confidence when I am taking pictures. It would be nice if MLU is built in, other than that I should say "go for it" if you are about to purchase one (warning: once you fall in love with it, you may spend lot of money for film.......) Customer Service don't have chance to try yet and hope not Similar Products Used: Canon A1, ElanIIE, A2E, Minolta, Nikon 2020 |

Strength:
Well built, small F5, pretty silent and fast, great layout.
Weakness:
Not easy to set flash under/over exposure unless you autobracket via a custom function, I would have liked a button for flash +/- like the f80. I would have liked to see a grid like the f80. A eyepiece shutter is a missed feature. 100% view of screen should have been just perfect. Great camera, not perfect. Perfect feel and weight. Similar Products Used: F3, F4, N70, F80, EOS3 |

Strength:
Rugged, excellent build quality, relatively fast focus, accurate spot metering
Weakness:
Focus selection switch too small, the 3D matrix metering is not as accurate as Nikon claims, An excellent camera but the 3D matrix metering worries me to the point I barely use it. 3D has a tendency to underexpose in normal situations. I am not even talking about harder backlit shots. Still, I was impressed enough to switch from Canon to Nikon. I wish that Nikon would have a better range (ie, faster) tele zoom lenses. Strength:
Excellent construction, very accurate metering.
Weakness:
Nothing so far. I've been using the F100 for 6 months now and couldn't be more satisfied. It is an excellent camera that I use for outdoor and underwater photography in an acrylic housing. I am especially delighted with the fill flash capabilities. Worth every penie! Customer Service Never needed. Similar Products Used: N90s, Cannon Ellan IIe |

Strength:
Tremendous feel and responsiveness. Very easy to acheive comfort in use, focuses very quickly and has a nice balance of weight and size.
Weakness:
I've encountered no weaknesses, and I'm delighted to be an owner of the F100. Best autofocus camera I have owned. Tremendous feel and responsiveness. I am confident in using my F100 that if I can't get it done with this camera, I probably can't get it done with any camera. Customer Service None needed through 10 years of Nikon equipment use.
