Strength:

Handling, Quality, metering, speed.

Weakness:

No mirror lock up, D.O.F. preview is tricky, viewfinder is not quite 100%

As soon as I saw the T90 I wanted one, I have in fact owned about 5 over about 12 years, they are a classic they were so far ahead of their time and handled like a dream. Multi spot metering is so useful in tricky situations, I now use EOS 1Vs they don't feel as familiar but work pretty well I suppose:)

Customer Service

Very Good wish they still supported this classic.

Strength:

Ergonomic design, with attention to detail. Metering modes, including flash. Just feels "right".

Weakness:

Noisy. Lack of mirror lock (why did they leave this out). Nothing else.

I'd been a Canon user for many years, thinking that the A1 could not be bettered. When I first picked up the T90, I fell in love immediately: only the EOS1 (which is based on the T90) has ever felt as "right" in the hands. Because it feels good, I use it more - in fact I wore out my first one and had to buy a second. I still use my A1s, but only when I want a body with a quieter shutter and no motor drive.

Strength:

metering system;
ergonomics;
durability; and
advanced fearures with 300TL

Weakness:

Wish T90 had mirror lockup but that's why I still have by FTB. T90 should be used frequently through.

Best manual focus camera ever. Multispot metering is amazing. I can keep using my FD lenses. Good as (or even better than) my EOS equipment.

Customer Service

Not needed. But spare parts still available from Canon (like an extra battery pack).

Strength:

strongest feature is without a doubt the layout. this camera fits in to my hands perfectly, especially the compansation buttons.
spot lock metering works great when doing birds photography.
4.5 frames per second helps "capture the moment".
the dof previw button is a great improvment over the one on the ae1. uses the fantastic and huge arsenal of fd and fl canon lenses.

Weakness:

rewind: the t90 will automatically and loudly rewind at the and of the roll- that can be VERY embarrassing when shooting the pm's speech or a wedding. also, the t90 will rewind all the way back, including the lead.
very fast battery consumtion.
no off-hotshoe flash terminal!!! why?! why?! why?!

I was using ae1 and ae1 program for about 6 years when i felt that i need a more advanced set. I do alot of bird photography, and looking at the price tags on autofocus tele lenses, i realized that i'd better stick with my current fd lenses and replace only the camera.
so i've made a list of features that i want from my future camera, and found that the t90 (almost) has it all.
the lack off mirror lock up was accepteble and the lack of a terminal for an additional flash was negligible.
so there you have it- a comfortable, easy and fast to use, pro manual focus camera. I call it a none autofocus eos.

Customer Service

never needed it.

Strength:

The T90 offers enormous flexibility along with durable workmanship. Excellent control over metering.

Weakness:

Heavy. Auto-wind doesn't leave a tab if you want to switch rolls.

The experienced photographer should be able to take full advantage of the features the T90 offers -- but even casual users can create exciting images. The T90 gives you the options. I've had this camera for about a decade. The only thing it's missing at this point is auto-focus ability. Ebay auction prices can range from $150-400+, so shop carefully.

Solid Body!

Weakness:

Weight - too heavy when trekking

A great camer that has handled snow and ice (only stopped once due to extreme cold (-35°C), and that was probably the batteries (it did however take a fair bit of persuasion to start working again). It's also handled sand storms in Namibia and Syria, altitude and cold in the Indian Himilayas, some pretty steamy Thai weather, and good old Scottish mist (heavy rain if you're from elsewhare on the globe) and it still keeps ticking along. Along with the huge amounts of good second hand lenses out there (and even new ones from Sigma/Tamron etc), it's hard to beat.
GET ONE if you can and you want a camera that will get treated rough and will handle it!!

Customer Service

Never needed yet, except to replace the cap for the shutter release, which was ridiculously expensive for a small piece of plastic!!

Strength:

superb design, crystalclear controls, multi-segment spotmetering, 4,5 fps motor drive, extremely user friendly and very solid.

Weakness:

no canon support, possible failure from electronics (but not if you take good care of it)

Wow, what a camera. I've had it for about 2 months now and after shooting numerous rolls of film i can now say it's absolutely fabulous. There's nothing i don't like about this camera. The controls are well laid out and VERY intuitive (i only needed to read the manual once). It's easy to use but the possibilities are countless. Because it's a pro camera you'll get multi segment spotmetering, a motor drive, 1/4000 shutter speed, etc; not bad for a camera that's more than 15 years old. You'll have to take care of this baby, though. Don't leave it unused for a long time or you might get the feared 'HELP' on your display. But if you take good care of it you won't be dissapointed. A true classic camera. The only problem is that a second hand T90 in good condition isn't really cheap, but you pay what you get for. Besides, you can get a whole range of fantastic FD lenses for very good prices.

Customer Service

none needed but Canon doesn't support it any more. Shame on you Canon!

Strength:

This camera was 20 years ahead of its time... the Jimmi Hendrix of the camera world! Simply the best FD lens fitting camera going, just think manual focus EOS 1n.

This camera is everything good you have ever read about it, I should know, I own two of them!

OK, so it's a bit on the heavy side, but so is gold! The rewind is supposed to be noisy but no one has ever complained about it to me! Just buy a good one from a dealer who can offer a good guarantee and enjoy the best manual focus camera ever made.

Weakness:

Are you serious? OK... they don't make new ones! ;o)

The Jimmi Hendrix of the camera world... simply the best ever made!

Customer Service

Canon don't want to know, they have had your (or somone elses) money and couldn't care less! Fortunately, a number of independant camera repairers exist, so repairs are still possible. Fortunatley they don't break easily!

Strength:

No hassle, superb photos - no if's or but's

Weakness:

none

I've been with Canon cameras since getting hold of an Ftb back in my student days. Like most other reviews, it accompanied me around the world documenting my life - both fun and facts.

Now, as my son plays lead guitar in conditions where taking photos has everything, including the brain cells, working at maximum and with no flash, I needed something better than the old F1.

The metering on the T90 when accompanied by the FD 200mm 2.8 and FD 135mm 2.5 have allowed high quality pics of such breathtaking quality that it makes me smile every time I have a film processed.

No mess, no messing just absolutely superb.
