Strength:

Very nice built, good balance in hand, durabilty (I'm not to test yet, but others said). Simple functions and a lot of pro accesories to get.

Weakness:

Weight a litlle to much. Side autofocus points are not focus anytime (in darknes).
Price of body and acessories.

I buy this camera, coz give to me durabilty and waterprof (don't throw it in water anyway!). Camera is made for many years and you can depend on every time! A litlle to expensive.

Strength:

Even with the new EOS-3, it is still the top Canon camera. When I purchased, I decided for it instead of EOS-3, because its reputation. With this camera, I am sure that it will never fail.

Weakness:

None.

This is a REAL camera, built like a tank. I have used under heavy rain with no problem. The only point to consider is to have spare batteries near you.

Metering could be better. The BPE-1 battery pack caused me a few problems

This is a real professional workhorse. I have used it in all weather conditions and it has only once had to be serviced. Terrific camera.

Strength:

Rock Solid. Can handle constant abuse.
Perform well -30C.
Efficient.
Fast.
Especially easy to use when you already own EOS-1.
Love the weight.

Weakness:

Position of T3 cable mount and it's cover.

Excellent Pro. Camera. If you are not being chased by technology, this camera would last forever for semi-pro use. I shoot an average of 5-10 rolls of film for a week for 6 years already.

Strength:

Very durable, yet designed with convenience in mind. Fast autofocus with USM lenses, spot metering linked to focusing points is a winner. Stright-forward access to such controls as exposure compensation and ISO. Ultimate flash control.

Weakness:

Autofocus is unreliable in extreme low light due to the absence of built-in IR assist, but fine with the flash attached. No vertical focusing points. Inconvenient to hold without a battery pack or a booster. Remote release and PC terminals have caps that are born to be lost somewhere. Mirror lock-up is vry difficult to activate without a manual.

This is a true professional camera. Even though it is not an example of the latest technology, it still has a very long way to go. Moreover, with advent of EOS 3 and 1v this camera became a real bargain on a used market. It lacks some features (like 5fps or special exposure modes) that I constantly use with my Minolta 9xi, but it has some that Minolta has not (spot meter coupled with focusing points, more obvious controls, mirror lock-up). It is truly a great piece of equipment if you know what to do with it. Canon EOS 1n coupled with a 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro is a must for anyone seriously hooked on macro photography.

Strength:

Outstanding ergonomics.
Performs as expected.
Easy to use.Rugged.

Weakness:

Sometimes you wish that the camera would be less
noisy, well I like the sound but for concert pictures, somebody might be disturbed.I miss ability to "turn off" the sound from the shutter release.

Dear Bob Scholenburg, where is the plastic that you are complaining about?
I think this camera performs as good as a F5 or any other pro-camera.It´s psycological,if you like the camera, you´ll probably take great pictures.
And Bob,how often do you drop your gear in the pavement? If you do,I think it depends on how it
hits the ground and not what brand you have.
Both Nikon and Canon makes pro gear that are supposed to withstand the same job,and they are both built rugged to work in most conditions.
So...concentrate on taking your pictures with the gear that you find most appropriate for your damands.
I think I would be as happy with a F5 as I am with my EOS 1N,but I find the EOS system easyer to work with, for ME, that is.

Strength:

Great, great and more great. This camera is the best for me.
I'm a pro fotografer, and i offen take picture of riots and streetfighting. So the camera gets at lot beating. And it can withstand all the beating!!

Weakness:

It's a bit heavy, and it is getting old.
So i'm going to by a 1v, so i can keap up.

This can take all, once i was photographing a streetriot, and i was standing behind the police. Brcous there i was save, so i thought, but suddently i got a bottle trown at me.
And it knockt me down, and i fell to the ground, and i droped both my 1n's. After 15 min. i was ready to take somemore photos, and so was my cameras. And after that i realy trust my cameras.

Buy it, you get what you need. And a good idear is to buy it 2nd hand, if you don't have anought money. I buy one of my 1n 2nd hand, and it is still going strong.

Customer Service

Once got it to service, but there was nothing wrong.

Weakness:

Drive selector position

Rugged construction. Wonderful feeling "stay-in-hand" camera. Lenses used: 20-35 USM, 28-135 USM IS and 70-200 f/2,8 USM.
With this camera I forgot all more economic and intermediate cameras.
