Shoot on the Sidelines With Scott Kelby and Mike Olivella Contest
Amateur Photographers to Win a Dream Sports Assignment
Tampa, FL – Monday, Aug. 3, 2009 – Today, Scott Kelby announced the kick off of a once in a lifetime photography contest – Shoot on the Sidelines With Scott Kelby and Mike Olivella. This extraordinary contest is open to amateur photographers who want to win an all-expense paid trip to shoot from the sidelines of the Florida State Seminoles vs. the Jacksonville State Gamecocks college football game on Saturday, Sept. 12 in Tallahassee, FL.
Starting today, contestants can upload one (1) of their best sports-related shots to our Flickr Group page at http://www.flickr.com/groups/sportshot/. The contest closes at 11:59 PM EST on Friday, Aug. 21. Then on Monday, Aug. 24, a winner will be announced on Scott Kelby’s blog, Photoshop Insider. Mike Olivella, sports photographer for Florida State’s athletic department will judge the contest and choose one winner.
The winner will be flown to Tallahassee, FL on Friday, Sept. 11 to have dinner with Scott Kelby and Mike Olivella to discuss this amazing dream assignment and talk sports photography. It’s an incredible opportunity to spend one-on-one time with Scott Kelby, world-renowned Adobe® Photoshop® expert, bestselling author and photographer, and Mike Olivella, sports photographer and stringer for a major wire service.
Then on game day, Sept. 12, the winner will accompany Scott and Mike to the pre-game warm up at Florida State’s Doak Campbell Stadium where you’ll shoot the team’s warm up on the field at the 50-yard line right next to FSU Seminole coach Bobby Bowden.
Plus, the winner will enjoy a pre-game meal (full blown buffet) at the stadium in the press box that overlooks the field where you can mingle with other media folks, photographers and FSU personnel. Then it’s down to the sidelines with Scott and Mike to shoot from the same vantage point as the pros, in one of the most exciting and energy-charged stadiums in the country.
Plus, the winner will get even closer to the action, because we’ve rented them “pro glass;” a 400mm f/2.8 lens from LensPro To Go.
