Panasonic announced two digital cameras to its new ZS-Series, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 and Lumix DMC-ZS1. The new ZS-Series is the successor to the Lumix TZ-Series.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 features 10.1-megapixels, 12x optical zoom, a 25mm ultra-wide-angle Leica DC Vario-Elmar lens, Intelligent Auto, 3-inch, high resolution Intelligent LCD, 26 scene modes and is the world’s first digital camera to have High Definition (HD) video recording ability, known as AVCHD Lite.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS1 also features 10.1 megapixels, a 25mm ultra-wide angle, 12x optical zoom, a standard iA mode (no Face Recognition) for still image recording and a 2.7-inch, Intelligent LCD.
The DMC-ZS3 will be available for $399.95 in silver, black, blue and red colors. The DMC-ZS1 will be available in black and silver for $299.95. Both digital cameras will be available in April 2009.

I just returned from a Panasonic press event in Miami where I got to shoot with a preproduction ZS3 for a whole day. I’m working on an article. But I’ve already posted a few photos of South Beach that I took with the ZS3: http://forums.photographyreview.com/showthread.php?t=51459
Keep your eyes open for my article on the new Panasonics! I should have it done today or tomorrow. And I’ve got tons of photos taken with the new Lumix ZS3 / TZ7 and the waterproof TS1.
Great! I hope you can check audio recording too. I’m eagerly waiting for a camera like this but was told the sound on later Lumix in not so good.
