Olympus Stylus Tough-8010 and Stylus Tough-6020 Waterproof Digital Cameras

Today, Olympus announced two new shockproof, waterproof, crushproof and freezeproof compact cameras, the Stylus Tough-8010 and Stylus Tough-6020.

The Stylus Tough digital cameras feature 14-megapixels, 5x wide-angle optical zoom lenses (28-140mm equivalent in 35mm photography), a 2.7-inch HyperCrystal III LCD, TruePic III Image Processor, 720p High-Definition (HD) video, AF Tracking technology, Magic Filter that includes Pop Art, Pin Hole, Fish-Eye, and Drawing, Dual Image Stabilization, Tap Control, Face Detection up to 12 faces, Intelligent Auto Mode, LED Illuminator, and SD Compatibility!

The Stylus Tough-8010 can withstand a 6.6-foot drop, 220 pounds of crushing pressure, can dive to 33 feet under water, and can still perform when the temperature dips well below freezing (14 degrees Fahrenheit; -10 degrees Celsius). The Stylus Tough-6020 can survive a 5-foot drop, can be submerged to 16 feet under water, and can also still perform when the temperature dips well below freezing (14 degrees Fahrenheit; -10 degrees Celsius). The Stylus Tough cameras also have four preset underwater scene modes, capture HD movies with audio under water, and have a water-repellent lens coating to prevent water droplets from forming on the lens.

The Olympus Stylus Tough-8010 and Stylus Tough-6020 will be available in February 2010 for $399.99 and $299.99, respectively.
