Fujifilm announced the FinePix F550 EXR and almost identical F500 EXR compact digital cameras. The FinePix F550 EXR features a 16-megapixel backside-illuminated EXR CMOS sensor, a 15x 24-360mm (35 mm equivalent) wide-angle zoom lens, RAW capability, EXR Processor and BSI CMOS, built in GPS with Photo Navigation and Route Logging functions, Full HD 1080p video recording with H.264 (MOV) format, a 3.0-inch LCD, Motion Panorama 360 mode, Advanced Anti blur mode, Photobook Assist function, Pro Low-light Mode, Super Intelligent Flash, Tracking Auto Focus, Face Recognition and Detection, and the new EXR Auto mode featuring 27 scenes.
The FinePix F500 EXR offers the same specifications as the FinePix F550 EXR, minus the built-in GPS and features a high speed capture rate of 3 frames per second at 16-megapixels for up to 3 frames, 6 frames per second for 6 frames at 8-megapixels or 12 frames per second for 12 frames at 4-megapixels. The FinePix F550 EXR features 8 frames per second at 16-megapixels for up to 8 frames, 11 frames per second at 8-megapixel resolution for up to 16 frames, and 11 frames per second for up to 32 frames at 4-megapixel resolution.
The Fujifilm FinePix F500 EXR and F550 EXR will be available March 2011 for $329.95 and $349.95, respectively.
