Nikon has created the Nikon Festival to let people share videos that portray “A Day Through Your Lens”. Nikon is encouraging photographers to explore the D-Movie function of their cameras by teaming up with A-list celebs and internet superstars to act as celebrity judges to evaluate 140 second long user submissions from aspiring film makers and photographers.
Judges include pioneering photographer and filmmaker Chase Jarvis actor Rainn Wilson from NBC’s The Office, internet queen and actress “iJustine” Ezarik. Ashton Kutcher, will also contribute to the Nikon Festival by sharing his personally shot video taken with the D5000, which captures his recent visit to Africa.
The grand prize is $100,000 and Nikon gear. Submissions will be accepted from now until December 15th.

I just discovered that videos don’t have to be shot with a Nikon to win. That really opens up the competition and makes this a lot more interesting. Too bad my video skills are so lacking.
