Strength:
Optics, versatility,
Weakness:
Doeasn''t have quite as wide an image circle as a large format lens and suffers from significant fall off (about 3/4 of a stop) at the extreme ends of the shift scale which is sometimes a little difficult to compensate for in exposure without bracketing. This means it is frequently less hassle to move the camera than use the shift facility. It must always be used with mirror lock up on a tripod. This an optically fine lens which I seem to use most of the time on my RZ. Its hidden feature is that it is an excellevnt close-up lens for florals etc- focussing down to a few inches. I use it for this as well as for its more obvious architectural applications, and for general landscape. With the no.1 ext tubes it will give 1:1 macro (at least). |

Strength:
1) very sharp.
Weakness:
1) very heavy. Far to heavy for general use,It has its faults, but Its just great for correcting those converging verticals. Customer Service when I bought this lens secondhand, from a dealer it was probably on display for a long time, with the shutter cocked! and did not work, went to mamiya for repair.I use this lens all the time and have had no problems since.
