Strength:
Overall high quality lens
Weakness:
Minimun focal distance to long. Filter size is not the same like the other AF zoom lens 105-210 regardless what the company market say about that, it is not true. This lens is just perfect to go outdoors.I use it to travel and shot african cultures and is very useful for that purpose. I have used before a nikon 35 mm system but now and together with the Mamiya AF 645 is a very light and high quality equipment. I have also the 105-210 mm zomm but is very heavy to carry on. Customer Service I didn't use Similar Products Used: Mmiya 105-210mm AF lens |

Strength:
Amazing focal length and great for indoors and outdoors people photography. Good for landscapes or architectural as well, max aperture is f32, good DOF.
Weakness:
quite a large minimal focus range, 1.5m that doesnt make it that useful if you want to do some interesting close up portraits. Having hired a 645AFD and this lens i was amazed at its handling abilities, zoom is fast and quiet for most subjects although it does search a bit when you are shooting against backlit subjects but thats to be expected. It really is a great lens. IR marking on the barrel as well if your that way inclined. Easy switching from AF/MF by moving the focus barrel back and forward on the lens and a lot handier than some lenses i have used. This camera was hired to prepare me for the medium format stuff i would be using in a wedding soon and it seems ideally suited to that kind of task. Customer Service never had to use but the lens is made to last. Similar Products Used: nikon 35mm 17-35 f2.8 on nikon D1 |
