Strength:
Zooming, no moving. Quick shooting similar to a 35mm setup. Excellent image quality..easily equal to the prime lenses it replaced.
Weakness:
The price for the ULD version. But if you need the image quality if you're a pro, it's a must. Look for it used on eBAY or KEH. I used to have the 150mm and the 210mm lenses. When doing weddings or modeling, I'd have to load up two bodies with these two lenses to be able to quickly change back and forth in shooting without having to take the time to remove and recouple lenses. It's a drag, your client doesn't understand the extra motions and it breaks your rhythum with a subject during studio sessions or on location. I wised up and ditched them and bought the 105-210 zoom. At first I had the original version of this lens and it was heavy and long and didn't balance well in your hands. I loved the zoom, though. Then I had the chance to buy the ULD version of the lens and it was a perfect marrage. The ULD version is smaller and lighter and faster handling and has better image quality, too. It was worth the wait for me. Customer Service Mamiya has the best service and supports it's users. Similar Products Used: 55-110mm zoom |

Strength:
I love, love, love this lens. I have made 30x40 prints from it, crystal sharp. This is so wonderful to use for wedding photography. Its sharp, its simple to use and is has so many applications
Weakness:
The sucker is heavy, hard to use hand held. At a wedding I like to photograph the bride with each of her gals. I found myself moving back and forth with my 150 portrait lens to get the subjects to fill the viewfinder. Some of the gals are larger than others (and wider too!). Everytime I moved, the lighting changed from my overhead flash. Now, I just stand in place and let the lens do the work. For portraits I zoom in and out and get drastically different results effortlessly. This is the name of the game in wedding photography Customer Service Mamiya.com, if you have any questions, they will answer it, they are great! Similar Products Used: 150 f4 |

ZOOM, hassle free
Weakness:
f/4.5, then again if its f/2.8 i think the weight will be too much to hand hold. less moving around for the Right frame. Customer Service have not need it so far. Similar Products Used: other Mamiya lens. |
