CFI SA f/5.6 250mm
Strength:
Great colors
Weakness:
expensive You can tell from a slide or even a print when this lens was used for a shot. Background blur, which varies an incredible amount based on the design of a lens, is good. Dis-satisfaction with the cf250 made me try this. For a long lens it is amazing-it seems to outperform the 150 and 80 even at short distances. The cf250 to me was a disapointment, I was surprised to see the results with something with the Hass/Zeiss name, but I'm not a Hassy-Chrishna so I admitted what I saw. Then I looked at the MTF's as supplied by Zeiss-not so pretty for the standard 250, much better for the SA250. If you wonder about the value rating, although it is killer, how can I give a 5 on a slowish 250 that costs 5k, no matter how it performs???? Similar Products Used: cf250 |

CFI SA f/5.6 250mm
Strength:
Superb picture quality, even at maximum aperture (5.6). Good mechanics. Nicely balanced.
Weakness:
none The CF 250 SA is simply the best lens I own. It made me switch from T-max 100 to Technical Pan, just to get a film which is a good match for this lens. Used on a 503 CXi, the viewfinder is just bright enough to allow precise focussing even at night shots. Similar Products Used: Sonnar CF 4/180. |
