This is the best lens in the Hasselblad system in
mine opinion. Very very sharp. I never take a photo in 4x5 so sharp like Sonnar 180.

Strength:

Sharpness, focal length perfect for portraiture and candid shots at wedding

Weakness:

I am a medical practitioner but just finished my first paid assingment as wedding photographer. First time using the 180mm instead of 150mm at wedding, one will be surprised how much that few degrees difference the view angle makes compared to the 150mm. Sharpness is beyond reproach. Made a 30x30 print and I have to tell brides to put on more foundation since all defects are seen! there is no where to hide. Altar shots and church steps shot could be compared to 100mm view angle in 35mm. High price to pay but I sold it the 30x30 print for nearly half the price of the lens! From my expericience this lens should be mandatory for anybody making a living from photography. I am looking forward to my second assignment and my lens would have been paid for by 2 weddings !
Many complaints about the weight.. well my answer is spent some time at the gym or attend physiotherapy it is worth it. My wedding gear consist of 100mm 80% 50mm for the group shots and 180mm for the bridal shots and ring shots using 100mm with a 10mm tube. Metz 70 coming next week instead of the 45-CT1. I don't think I need any mroe equipment and start earning money to pay for my investment......what a hobby

Strength:

*Extremely sharp
*Fantastic contrast
*Great color
*Light weight

Weakness:

None

This is a powerful glass. Subjects photographed with this lens will pop out of the background. Images have a 3 dimensional feel about them. The lens is very, very sharp. The colors are very saturated. Due to its light weight it can be handheld with no problem. In my opinion, this is the ultimate lens for fashion photographers and for those who do portraits. With this fabulous lens why would anybody buy the CFI 150mm? I suppose price would be the deciding factor; the 180mm is an expensive lens, but it is worth it.

Model Reviewed: CFI f/4 180mm

Strength:

Excellent lens for portraits.

Weakness:

none

This is the best lens for portraits in my opinion. It is very sharp (even in the corners) and has excellent contrast. When hooked up with a tele-converter it is quite impressive at 360mm.
