The price!!!! Big lens, defintely for the studio. Well, not the most comfortable set up in the world. Hey you get zeiss quality, but unless you are a pro and can make you eqipment pay for themselves, then I don't see the reason. You have to be a wealthy amatuer to get this lens. Image quality!

What ??? I do not own this lens but have used it extensively for many assignments. It was used by several photographers some of whom treated it pretty roughly (hence the scratch) Nevertheless it has been very reliable after all the years of abuse. The image quality is amazing which is not surprizing with CZ lenses. The lens is beautifully corrected for distortions and flare. It is a little cumbersome in use because of the second ring for the floating element but I learned to deal with that and am able to use it anywhere even for location scenes where one would first think of an autofocus slr. I am going to buy one of these for my own use and will probably keep it as a standard lens on the camera most of the time. If you can afford it this is a jewel. Customer Service Superb. The front element was scratched (I did not do it). Service was quick and inexpensive (well, reasonable) Similar Products Used: Most Mamiya 645 lenses |
