Quality/solid; image purity; pin sharp; colour correctness; resolution - CZ optics.

None, just a shame it comes at such a high price.

I agonised between the 150mm or 180mm and heard that the 180mm is about the sharpest CZ lens produced for the Hasselblad, so sharp it can be unflattering for a model. I decided to go with the 180 as it seemed a more worthwhile field of view difference to my 80mm and the 35mm equivalent of 100mm is more useful in portraitsl landscape and street work. Well it's just superb - the ideal mix of speed (f4), field of view / reach, and optical quality. It is quite bright especially with the new H viewing screen. But above all kit is sharp, sharp and sharp; distortion free; colour perfect, pin sharp; comfortable to use and its resolution is amazing. Yes, it's beefy, as strong as an ox and superbly made. The focus ring is magnificent to use and the barrel is well marked. I purchased it second hand in excellent condition after a long hunt as owners are said to fiersly hang onto these - very few 180mm lenses around. The 60mm filter size is convenient as my other CZ lenses are the same. This is a killer lens! Finally, I read much talk of the 180mm being too heavy and upsetting the body's balance compared to the 150mm. That comparison may be accurate, BUT, evaluate the 150 on its own lens merits: optics, field of view, speed etc.; not on ergonomic comparisons - the 180 is necessarily different in size etc because it is a longer focal length. Despite it's size and weight (it is big and heavy) it is sufficiently easy to use and get comfortable with.

Of all the lenses I own this 180 is my favorite , shoot tight wide open ... subjects always are flattered ... superb color rendintion . Shooting candid at outdoor parties , garden weddings eg with any 400 asa & the proper ttl setup with exciting results ... the mundane . . becomes marvelous .
