Strength:
I prefer this lens to the Rodenstock 115 mm Grandagon because the 135 mm Apo-S seems sharper, is lighter (only 240 gms), and is more compact (Copal 0 shutter, 49 mm filter size versus 82 mm filter size on 115 mm lens); with 6 x 9 roll film back I get the angle of view of a longer length lens but with greater depth of field; filter size matches that of my Schneider 210 mm G-Claron; the filters for the 82 mm lens were bulky and much more costly; better coverage and attainable lens shift than achievable with Nikon or Schneider 135 mm lenses; much less expensive than Schneider 110 XL mm Super Symmar; Nikon requires 52 mm filter
Weakness:
Lens weighs about 10% more than the Nikon and Schneider 135 mm lenses; This lens complements a 210 mm G-Claron Schneider lens without requiring a different set of filters, as would be needed if I were to have bought a Schneider 110 XL lens that requires a 67 mm EW filter; the 135 mm lens can be used without having to change to wide angle bellows or dropping bed of camera Customer Service HP Marketing is very good at responding to customer inquiries Similar Products Used: 115 mm Rodenstock Grandagon |
