Strength:
+Excellent Build +Price wasn't horrible +Near flawless execution in doing what it does
Weakness:
-Filter cap that comes with it is a poor design as it doesn't stay on at all -Needs a proper manual to explain the technique to using the filter, altho I guess that's what google is for :) So far the filter has held up quite nicely. I have yet to experience any flare, chromatic abbreviation, or any other lens flaws while using this filter. For the price I was really happy. Although it is to be noted that in order to really get your use out of this type of filter you need to read up on how to use it properly. Also if your doing any sort of photography with cars this filter is not only recomended, but a near requirement. And to add, before I used to photoshop the saturation on my outdoor pics, and still they lacked the saturation I wanted, now with the filter I dont have to bump saturation. Strength:
Quality coating process Great improvement in strong light outdoor conditions
Weakness:
clamp ring loosened up I bought this filter to use with my Elan 7E and 75-300 IS lens on a recent trip to Africa. I played around by swapping the filter on and off for several shots, and the color saturation and contrast were dramatically improved with the filter in place. Unfortunately, my lens is a bit slow which prevented low-light shots, but hey - now I have an excuse for a lens upgrade to the 70-200 2.8L!! (If only my piggy bank would agree!?) |
