MF28-70mm f/3.5-4.5 SZX SD Manual Focus
Strength:
Sharp pictures, accurate colors. Excellent quality for cost.
Weakness:
Composite/plastic parts leaves user questioning durability. At 28 mm, you can see your filter holder along the picture egdes (lloks like your shooting from within a tunnel). The viewfinder looks a lot dimmer compared with my other lenses (even the f4-5) Its a great lens to have if your on a budget. Customer Service N.A. Strength:
Durability, sharpness, ease of use
Weakness:
it is 15 years old now and it doesn't hold focus; I have to hold the lense or it will move under it's own weight. It doesn't have a depth of field view button I have used this lense with my Olympus OM-PC for 15 years. It still produces good picture quality. I now have to hold the lense or it will move out of focus by itself. The weight of the lense makes it move. Customer Service not applicable, I haven't contacted them. The manual supplied with the lense was hard to follow. Similar Products Used: Olympus Zuiko |

Strength:
pleasantly sharp, ease of use, moderate speed
Weakness:
not sure if the use of composite plastic is an issue here(it feels tuff, like aged oak) but i am put off by the tiny lens mount plate that is screwed on... I needed a camera so i borrowed it from a friend with a minolta X-700- a fantastic camera. i did some portrait on tri-x with it and the results are superb. remember i based my results on B/W, not sure about color renditon though... Strength:
I bought this lens with my FM2 for $100 less than what's listed here. It features great construction, 8 glass elements in 7 groups and produces sharp photos.
Weakness:
Seems to make my viewfinder dimmer than my Nikon lenses do. I use this lens for everything from landscapes to close-ups, it has great color rendition and sharpness. If you are looking for a MF lens for your MF camera but can't find one from the manufacturer of your camera, I recomend trying any Tokina MF lens. Customer Service none used Similar Products Used: Nikon 35-80, 28-85 and Pentax 35-80 all very nice lenses featuring auto focus. |
