Strength:
Built quality is ok 19-35 wide good quality maybe Tamron delivers the new digital lens to canon and nkon the coming yrs?
Weakness:
might need the last TOUCH of finish and a LD element glass ..and then it might the no 1 lens of best buy for all those digital SLRs turning up the coming years TAMRON...do it!! I decided to give this lens a chance and i most admit im quite surprised how much you get pr dollar, its very sharp and good compared to other lenses costing double or more.Whether you use it on digital or film cameras you will not be dissapointed. This is on par with Canons Ef 50 mm 1,8 Tamrons Own 70-300 LD,simply a true best buy for small money. One could think IF Tamron put an LD(ED) glass in it,it might be a stellar performer. Sharp comes with hood
Weakness:
expensive filters bulky hood Surprisingly good lens for the price. And sharp. Sharpness is equal to canon 28-105 3.5-4.5 or even little better. No kiding. I made some test with cropings. I use this lens on canon 10d. I also tested vs. canon 20-35. The only advantage I noticed is USM. Customer Service no needed yet Similar Products Used: canon 20-35 |

Weakness:
none at this price I originally wanted to purchase the Nikon 18-35 but the specs on this lens were very comparable and the Tamron was half the price. I do not regret the purchase at all. It feels like a strong enough lens and the auto focus is super fast, even on my F65. Don't point this lens at the sun and you shouldn't have too many flare problems. NOTE: If you use an F65 or F80 and only have the in camera pop-up flash you will need to purchase a speedlight as the pop-up flash is not high or wide enough to be used with this lens. You will get a shadow covering the bottom of your shots. Customer Service Not needed |

Strength:
- Sharp - No vigneting - Very little distortion - Very good color rendition - No flare - Hood included - Fast and accurate AF - Good construction - Compact - Lightweight - Fit very well with Elan7
Weakness:
- Miss hyperfocal infos - Naturally in full backlight condition it suffers flare... but not so heavily - Lenght change in zooming action Great value for the money and generally very good lens. Very impressed by this cheap lens.. it's obviously superior to the Canon 20-35mm f3.5-4.5 and comparable to the Nikkor 18-35mm f3.5-4.5... congratulation Tamron! Strength:
Bargain priced with current $20 rebate from Tamron. Super fast focusing on Nikon F100. Lightweight. Lenshood included.
Weakness:
Uses expensive 77mm filters though it is a convenience if you own other lenses having the same filter size. Similar to competitor's, Tokina, product. More compact and lightweight. It does NOT have IF (internal focus) but does use straight helicoid focusing so that lens front/filters do not rotate. Zoom ring is smooth throughout the range with about 4mm lens extension at shortest and longest focal length setting. Noticeable barrel distortion at 19 & 24mm. No observable distortion above 28mm. Precise and fast focusing on Nikon F100, outdoing Nikon's 28-105mm zoom with IF. Negatives showed very good sharpness across the frame when stopped down at various focal lengths. Haven't shot with lens wide open yet. Color balance is neutral. Flare well controlled for its focal length range. Very practical super wide angle zoom especially when hiking with a backpack where weight/size is a consideration. Customer Service Not needed so far. Strength:
Good, solid build Lightweight Good value (though note I paid £200 - need to convert to dollars) - standard for the UK
Weakness:
Vignetting at wide end - limited ability with filters 77mm filters - pricey Wonderful bit of kit My first true wideangle, and has opened new doors in my photography. No, its not as good as a prime but covers a nice little range in one lens. As most reviews will state there is a little vignetting at the exteme wide end - and forget about a screw in filter at 19mm. But as a first wideangle its superb. It handles nicely and is a light addition to your kit bag Customer Service Not needed to use Similar Products Used: Sigma 28mm EX Sigma 24mm EX |

Strength:
This lens is very lightweight and has a decent build quality. I like the feel of the zoom ring even though it turns in the opposite direction I'm accustomed to. It has served me very well in group portraits and with landscaping. It is also a great value for the dollar as this isn't an expensive lens.
Weakness:
Though I haven't had a problem with vignetting or light fall off, this can be a problem with wide angle lenses. Just take your time while composing your shot and be careful while using the hood. I would also take care while shooting architecture, as distortion may be a problem. This too can often be fixed by paying attention to composition. The lens is difficult to fit in the lens pouch on my holster bag-- not a real problem though. It also requires 77mm filters. Allow me to begin by reccommending a wide angle zoom...period. Every photographer needs a wide angle zoom. There's nothing like wide and close in your viewfinder. Besides, the 28mm setting on your main lens just isn't wide enough sometimes, right? I reccommend this lens to anyone looking for a decent wide angle zoom that won't cost an arm and a leg. It's not an L series, ATX, or other pro model, but I'm not sure these lenses are two or three times better even though they cost two or three times as much. Customer Service N/A |

-Awesome lens for the money -Lightweight -6 year warranty -Included perfect hood -Fairly compact -Internal Focus
Weakness:
-77mm filter We were looking for a decent quality super-wide zoom without blowing too much money. This lens is outstanding and great buy for anyone looking for the same. It is lightweight and compact behind the 77mm filter. The focus is quick and quiet on the Elan 7 and manual focusing is smooth. Lens flare is controlled well by the included hood. There is noticeable edge distortion only at the widest zoom setting, but this produces a neat effect at close range. Overall we are very pleased with the quality and performance of the lens. If you have not tried a super-wide lens before, this is a great one to get in to. Customer Service Not needed Similar Products Used: Tamron 28-200 XR IF |
