Strength:

- a good deal for the product
- 55 mm is easy size to find for filters

Weakness:

- zoom can search a lot at 300 mm
- pictures can be fuzy when shot at 300 mm sometimes, but other times its great!

I wanted a basic zoom lense with a little more power. Bought a Tamron because found that Canon lenses too expensive. Friends had Tamron lenses and worked fine. Works well for what I need. I have taken a couple of shots with flash at 100 mm in low light daylight situations... can't complain of quality, and that's just with the camera's built-in flash!!

An inexpensive zoom lense allowing good landscape shots. I would not recommend this lense for use with a flash.
