This lens is a member of the high end EX family. It produces sharp low distortion images consistant with other lenses in the EX line. It is not up to the usual high build quality of its stablemates however. This is the only EX lens I own that does not offer full time manual focus overide. Also the focus ring rotates during use. Overall, though, the 18-50 2.8 macro really delivers optically. Pro results at a great price is the story for this lens.
