Strength:
when not falling apart it works ok.. fast focus
Weakness:
put together by cheap glue and I bet little or no quality-control... Good point on this lens, the glass is not bad. very little light fall off and good contrast. now the bad points.. This phoenix lens may not last the year. one week after gettint it. the rubber focus grip came off. the zoom grip is even coming loose. A screw that holds the mount in was almost lost. it came out and was in the bottom of my camera bag. I was able to tighten it and another screw was loose. Also if you are looking for a close focusing lens this is not the one you want. If you want a lens to fall apart a week after you get .. go out and buy this one. (NOT!) Customer Service I am not going to spend the money to send this thing off to a repair place. Similar Products Used: Nikon 28-80 and sigma 28-105mm |

Strength:
Fast lens, f2.8-f3.8(f4)
Weakness:
Made by Vivitar. Same lens as the Vivitar Series 1 lens. Take that as a plus or a minus. I was looking for a wider angle zoom than my 35-105 Canon EF lens, this one is not top of the line, but in my opinion, it is not the worst lens out there. It replaced a very old Canon EF lens that had no USM. I am happy for now, but once I have enough cash, I will get a real Canon lens to replace the Phoenix. Customer Service 2 week return, 60 warenty (used item) Similar Products Used: Vivitar Series 1 28-105 f:2.8-3.8 |

Strength:
Cheap
Weakness:
Minimum focus distance of 1.5m Basically a rebadged Vivitar... Good results for the price, but results look a tad soft compared with the comparable Sigma. Is only really f4 at long end. Customer Service Not needed Similar Products Used: Sigma 28-105 2.8-4 |
