See review I have the Cosina version of this lens which is very sharp and have good contrast wide open at 400mm (even with my Nikon TC-16A tele-convertor) on my cropped sensor Nikon D70 body. This might not be the case if you use full frame camera. Auto focus speed is reasonably fast at 400mm F6.7 and purple fringing for high contrast areas is quite tolerable. This lens is quite lightweight and I can even handhold it at 1/80s with proper handholding technique and leaning against something stable. Highly recommended if you are looking for a reasonably priced 400mm lens for birding or nature photography where 300mm is most of the time insufficient. What other autofocus 400mm lens is available at this kind of price or even double or triple the price for this type of quality? As far as I know.....NON ! Similar Products Used: Nikon AF-D 70-210mm
